Salisbury Elementary School

Salisbury Elementary School is located in rural Lancaster County. The approximately 320 learners attend Salisbury from Kindergarten through 6th grade before transitioning to our middle school. The experienced facilitators at Salisbury Elementary School meet the individual needs of each learner. This is done through a variety of whole group and small group learning experiences. With a population of over 50% of families being labeled socio-economically disadvantaged, we are a Title I school. We benefit from additional resources and personnel to provide remediation and enrichment opportunities. We follow the State endorsed Response to Instruction and Intervention model for instructional support, utilizing our Title I funded tutors and reading specialists for both pull out and push in support.

Our learners combine academic studies with social learning. We use common guidelines to create a school-wide focus. Adopted from working closely with our sister school, at Salisbury Elementary, we believe in respect for self, respect for others, and respect for the world around us. These areas of focus create a learning environment that encourages good choices and consideration for all. All four district buildings now use these school-wide beliefs, providing seamless expectations across the district. Salisbury learners value earning a Salisbury Star for making these good choices.

We have implemented a 1:1 technology initiative, where learners K-4 are assigned iPad mobile digital devices, and learners in 5th-6th grade are assigned MacBook Air computers.  We continually strive to reach our mission in proving that each learner counts through our daily encouragement and support as we work toward meeting each learner’s individual needs.  Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment where parents and facilitators work cooperatively to maximize their child's success... each learner counts at Pequea Valley.
