Sicilian Roots

Sicilian Roots tells the story of a Sicilian woman who left Sicily as a young bride to follow her American husband and who returns after thirty years to explore the land of her roots.  The ibook shows some of the highlights of the beautiful landscapes of Sicily.  Then, springing from childhood memories, the book presents some Sicilian traditions as an account of the way they are still experienced by Sicilians today.  Next, through videos and photos, the reader can see first hand some traditional practices of the Sicilian culture.  Some activities Sicilian families enjoy are presented as well as traditional festivals, both tied to food. Finally, the book takes the reader on a journey through some off the beaten path locations in Sicily. The purpose of this book is to reach those who have an interest in the everyday life of the people of Sicily as it is retold by one of its own; one Sicilian who left as a young lady and has returned to explore the land and share her experiences.
