Publisher Description

'This is a riveting book, with as much to say about the transformation of modern life in the information age as about its supernaturally gifted and driven subject' - Telegraph

Based on more than forty interviews with Steve Jobs conducted over two years - as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues - this is the acclaimed, internationally bestselling biography of the ultimate icon of inventiveness.

Walter Isaacson tells the story of the rollercoaster life and searingly intense personality of creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written, nor even the right to read it before it was published. He put nothing off limits. He encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly. And Jobs speaks candidly, sometimes brutally so, about the people he worked with and competed against. His friends, foes, and colleagues provide an unvarnished view of the passions, perfectionism, obsessions, artistry, devilry, and compulsion for control that shaped his approach to business and the innovative products that resulted.

A book reading which you will understand Apple better

I rarely read biographys. Mostly because they are not so interesting as imaginary world an author can create, moreover, in most cases a reader does not have a happly ever after ending. You can call me a dreamer or a joke of a person, but I adore a good story together with HEA.... as most of you know, this is definitely not a HEA and not nice romance with some action. Actually it is pretty heavy stuff about a genius with really hard character. He is volatile, cruel, but still a genius. At the end I cried. I did not cry due to the fact that a good guy had died, I cried because I felt for Steve and I believed him to be a true human who loved Apple more than any person in his life and he was so proud of his achivements and his fantastic company. If you want to get to know him, read this book! It is not an easy read, but it is a good ride into understanding why Apple and its devices are in the way they are.
