Every five years, the people of Kathalea require a volunteer to sacrifice themselves for the good of the people at the great Festival of the Solar Eclipse. Amid a schism of violence and peace, Noa of Kathalea must decide how to lead the land out of a bloody tradition and back to sanity. But one man is doing all he can to ensure that a very special sacrifice will be required this year.
