When his own daughter proved imperfect, scientist Docteur Sebastien set out to create the perfect girl. His daughter was left a pale shadow to the perfection of her father's creations.
But what is perfect to one isn't necessarily to another. Self made mercenary Andre had made a deal to obtain one of Docteur Sebastien's perfect girls, but discovers a preference for the original. Docteur Sebastien is only too happy to make the trade.
When the Premier of La Grotte dies, Docteur Sebastien's creations become increasingly in demand as various forces strive to obtain the coveted position. Andre doesn't want power and yet finds himself drawn into the struggle for it. In his effort to survive will having the original girl on his side help or hinder? And who is really the better... the daughter or the perfected copies?
