Ujjvala-nīlamaṇi-kiraṇa

The Kiraṇa – highly esteemed as the wealth of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas – takes us directly into the realm of the gopīs of Vraja. What are their moods? What stimulates their love for Kṛṣṇa? How do they express it? How are Śrīmatī Rādhikā’s loving moods superior to those of Candrāvalī and others?

Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura has presented all this in a kiraṇa, or ray, of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī’s Ujjvala-nīlamaṇi. This edition of theKiraṇa concludes with Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura’s Svapna-vilāsāmṛta-aṣṭakam, in which Śrīmatī Rādhikā relates a dream to Śrī Kṛṣṇa that has left Her bewildered. In the subsequent verses, She and Kṛṣṇa discuss what She has seen.
