Barcelona, the City of the Present

Over the course of my life a whole host of different specialist books about Barcelona have passed through my hands. I can recall many different kinds, some focusing on historical aspects, others on the city’s landmarks or artistic, social and architectural features, its streets, gardens, etc. The pleasure I have derived from leafing through such works is the product not simply of their subject matter, but the fact that they have helped me better to understand, and so to appreciate Barcelona.
