Hello & Goodbye Coral Reef

For those who love the sea no place is more magical to dive in than a coral reef. Among rainbow like fish, oddly shaped corals and light beams that colour the bottom of the sea in hues of turquoise and gold the reef is the most exhaustive kindergarten in which you can loose yourself. 

What not everyone knows or remembers is that the discovery of the sea depth started less than a century ago. 

In this book we trace the epic story of the first explorers who animated by the desire to catch fish and grill them on a beach of the French Riviera, occupied by the Germans at the time, forged very rudimentary technology that started recreational underwater diving as it is known today. 

We will also talk about Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace, of their journeys in search of a clue that would shed light on the origin of life and about the millions ways it could have occurred. But.. how many species are out there? Only by diving into a coral reef, this great and complex condominium that houses so many of them, some known others still to be discovered, we can comprehend that they are quite infinite.

This perfect structure has the potential of becoming a role model for positive cohabitation among species worth of being imitated, its beauty is a lure that triggers questions, to go beyond the appearance, for instance, of what to many is considered one of the greatest show on Earth.
