Tom Billings is a dying homeless man, struggling to stay alive until Christmas. Believing he hears some church bells, he promises a reward to a friend if he will take him to the church. When they arrive, Tom discovers the church has fallen on bad times - a fate similar to his own. During the last moments of his life, Tom makes an impression on three people.
