Women at Play

When it was first published in 1993, Women at Play: The Story of Women in Baseball was a ground-breaking work, introducing readers to one hundred years of hidden history — the true stories of women who played hardball from 1893-1993. Women at Play received a boxed review in The New York Times. USA Today's Baseball Weekly labeled it "an important new text," and The Cooperstown Review wrote: "Women at Play can do for women in baseball what Only the Ball Was White did for African-Americans: illuminate decades of accomplishment in the face of prejudice to . . . baseball fans who care about history and justice." Long out of print, Women at Play is now back in an ebook-only version, 25 years after its first publication. The contents are exactly as they were in 1993, but, unlike the original book, the book contains no photos: it is text-only. A valuable resource for researchers, and inspiring reading for baseball fans and the general public.
