A Bitter Pit to Swallow

It's finally spring in Harriston, Montana, where the mountains are breathtaking…and the chocolate is to die for.

Early May means tourist season is just around the corner, and twins Alex and Hanna are preparing their mystery book and poison-themed chocolate shop for Harriston's annual Spring Fling Festival. As wildflowers bloom beneath the snowcapped Swan Mountains, local businesses are clearing old inventory and gearing up for the busy months ahead.

But the festivities take a deadly turn when the town's newest shop owner—a shameless opportunist blatantly stealing signature creations from neighboring businesses, including the twins' own poison-inspired chocolates—is found murdered before the festival even begins.

 When a close friend and beloved local baker becomes the prime suspect, the twins defy sheriff's orders not to investigate. Alex and Hanna face a mountain of suspects, from tight-lipped locals to suspicious out-of-towners. Half the valley is hiding something and the sisters must sort out the facts from the festival chaos before the killer strikes again—and their future is permanently melted down.
