A New Place in Life

In the first installment of the Rockford Life Trilogy, Thomas Benton and David Hardway decide to uproot their families from their genteel Virginian homes to pursue a business venture in Oregon. Setting out on the Oregon Trail, they have little idea what to expect and find themselves greatly unprepared to face the trail hardships.

Their young guide, Dan Rockford, has spent seven years out West. He understands lack of comforts, harsh conditions, rough terrain, and outlaw threats, but nothing can prepare him for attempting to get these greenhorns safely to Oregon.
