AI-Enhanced Processes

AI-Enhanced Processes is a practical guide for educators navigating the use of generative AI to support student learning. It introduces transparent processes that define who is responsible for thinking, what type of thinking is expected, and when and how AI should be utilized. The goal is to help students and teachers use AI thoughtfully; how can we push thinking further without replacing it?

Building on Project Zero’s Thinking Routines, AI-Enhanced Processes takes the next step by weaving AI directly into the learning process with action-oriented verbs, scaffolds for AI literacy, and transparent ways to make thinking visible. The first edition highlights four key processes: Think-Generate-Edit, Generate-Verify-Reflect, Acquire-Analyze-Act, and Process Journals, all of which are designed to keep authentic human thinking at the center of AI-supported learning.
