This book is a collection of travel stories, which were written between 1996 and 2020. The chapters are organised in the alphabetical order rather than the chronological order. As the author’s style of writing developed over those 24 years, the chapters may seem like a collage of unrelated trips written by various people. This edition of the book covers 48 African countries, north and south, east and west, as well as a number of archipelagos. It contains over 2300 original photographs all taken during the trips, as well as routes, itineraries, budgets and actual expenditure details. The honest and unapologetic observations and details of places to stay, eat, drink, socialise with the locals, see the wildlife, spots to visit and avoid, are not intended to offend anyone. They are mere first and second impressions of a demanding traveller. All proceeds from this book go to sponsor education of poor children in West Africa.
