Bad Neighbourhood

Katya wanted to serve Russia, not watch over the neighbourhood where deposed dictators are given sanctuary. While not the worst duty in the FSB, it's the precipice from which career freefall looms - or worse, if stories of the team they replaced are true. A fate she risks sharing when a dictator accidentally dies in a way that could be blamed on them. Katya must cover up their involvement before their superiors realise, all while dealing with the usual dramas of the residents:
A newcomer there temporarily while awaiting a restoration to power;
One hopes his therapist can explain why he's not excited about getting planning permission for the torture dungeon;
A destitute dictator working in a shop is stalked by a groupie;
Rumours of assassins targeting someone in the neighbourhood;
And a resident’s off-colour joke about the Russian president - which surely won't cause trouble.
