Planets at war. People displaced. Ten thousand refugees.

And they only have one place to go.

They have arrived at the planet Path and set up camp on the outskirts of the main city. Moke has been here from the beginning. He doesn't mind all the new arrivals—he just wants everyone to be safe. Except that fire after fire has begun to alight throughout the makeshift neighborhoods. They know it's arson—but who is responsible? And why are they doing it? 

The firebug must be stopped, but there is only so much Moke can do on his own. So, when the mayor, Meriym, makes him Fire Chief, he must use all of his wits and knowledge of the town to stop the deadly fires rushing through his beloved city.

And the answer comes from the place he least expects.
