Cyborg in the City

In the neon labyrinth of The City, where sewer mutants skulk beneath gravball stadiums and the Yakuza run beauty salons on the side, Maxx is the last person you'd hire to save the world—and the first one who'll actually show up. Half-cybernetic, all attitude, armed with a katana, a wakizashi, and a talent for making very powerful people very nervous, Maxx crashes from one catastrophe to the next: battling bee-worshipping cults in abandoned luxury hotels, fighting berserk mutant poultry in the docks, trading banter and blades with a crime queen in killer heels, and running dangerous errands for the mysterious Madame Blue that end in lunar firefights and whispers of an unseen psionic empire. As dead technicians, bent metal, and erased memories pile up, Maxx starts to realize he's not just cleaning up other people's messes—he's on the front line of a secret war for the United North American Confederacy's soul. And somewhere between the sewer tunnels, the Moon, and the world's most glamorous office door, he has to decide what he's fighting for… and who he's willing to cross when the blades finally come out.
