Dead Energy

What happens when the world's energy supply begins disappearing without a trace?

While vacationing on a sailboat in Washington's Puget Sound, former CIA operative and geophysics professor Alex Cave witnesses something impossible. A massive oil tanker becomes engulfed in brilliant blue light. Seconds later, the light vanishes, leaving the tanker completely empty—its cargo and crew mysteriously gone.

When several missing crew members are discovered dead on a distant mountain, with no explanation of how they got there, Alex realizes this is no ordinary maritime disaster.

Then it happens again.

Oil tankers are found abandoned. Millions of barrels of crude oil vanish from storage facilities and pipelines. As the mysterious blue light appears in locations across the globe, the world's energy supply begins to collapse.

Called upon by the United States Director of National Security, Alex must uncover the source of the phenomenon before civilization descends into chaos.

But someone knows exactly what's happening—and believes destroying the world's dependence on fossil fuels is the only way to save humanity.

Can Alex stop a disaster that threatens the entire world before it's too late?
