I moved into this house to get away from needing anyone. Then Madeleine claimed half of it, and her voice started pulling obedience out of me like it was nothing.

Every command she gives leaves me smaller, more exposed, and I hate how much I wait for the next one. The way she watches me obey makes the emptiness inside feel almost full.

She's standing right there with her hand in my hair, the basement door shut, and the word to kneel is already on her lips. I don't know how much more of myself I can lose before there's nothing left to give.
