Dorothea Dix Park Pattern Book

Descripción editorial

A pattern book for the planning of Dorothea Dix Park, a 300-acre former mental hospital site in Raleigh, NC.  This pattern book is based on the work of Christopher Alexander and others, as published in A Pattern Language (1977) and A Timeless Way of Building (1979).  It is part of a class project at North Carolina State University’s College of Design.  The project is to develop a planning process for a large, complex project in the public realm, as part of the requirements for a class entitled Community Design: Landscape Architecture, City Planning and the Public Realm, led by Daniel A. Howe, FASLA, AICP, Assistant Professor of the Practice.  The work shown in this book was prepared by students in the class in Spring 2017.
