First Lieutenant Samuel Ward was finally home and he hoped for good. The Government pulled the last of the troops from Iraq, and after three tours, he was one of the last to go. In Turner Montana he was met with a hero’s welcome and was settling back into his routing at his ranch. One night on the way back from town he spotted alone figure dragging to heavy suitcases alone the side of the road. When he pulled over it was the girl he had been in love with since he was fifteen, Kasha Matthews. She finally left her abusive boyfriend and had nowhere to go.



There was no if and or buts about it, Samuel took her home where he could keep her safe. Together they shared Christmas and he had the woman of his dreams finally in his arms. To him she was a like a scared doe, Sam knew he had to take it slow and easy to win her heart.
