I have an embarrassing confession to make.

I did it all for the cookie. 

Literally.

Let me explain.

All was well in Morningwood … until Hansel showed up at my house, looking like a snack.

My wicked witch of a stepmother, Grundle, had cursed him to bake from the inside out until all of his bits turned buttery.

From his frosted tips to his bubblegum lips and all the nutty deliciousness in between, one bite of my gingerbread man's bonbon, and I rode more than a sugar high.

I would happily taste his festive jawbreaker anytime of the year.

But there was just one problem.

This pastry party couldn't last forever.

If I didn't find a cure for his candy heart and sneak us both out of this place, he'd soon become toast.

I didn't want to pick up his crumbs.

I'd already had to pick up his sister's ashes.

Could I escape across Grundle's fleshy fun bridge with my main gingerbread man, or was I bound to live an evil life, stuck with my witchy mother forever?
