A violent storm forces Mala Bey to concentrate on staying on the road as she makes her way through Florida's Alligator Alley. The downpour isolates her from the other drivers until she spots a black-clad stranger on a powerful motorcycle. A glance is all it takes. She longs for his touch, his embrace, his body. His everything.

To her horror, the man loses control. He and his bike disappear into the wilderness.

Mala refuses to surrender him to the elements. Somehow she'll find and save him.

But there's more to what's happening to Laird Jaeger than either of them can comprehend. Disembodied voices beg him to go back in time, challenge him to face the truth about his past. Only one thing keeps him from surrendering to the unknown—the green-eyed woman. He sends her wordless messages he hopes her body will understand. They must connect. Somehow.

Day turns into night. An exhausted Mala can't sleep because a man's deep voice echoes inside her. She feels his hands on her, knows what sex between them  would be like. They belong together.

Unless a panther-like creature convinces Laird of his destiny.
