If I Didn't Care

Nicole Bennett is back in MacLeod's Cove, the small Nova Scotia town she swore she'd escaped for good. Between working the counter at her family's market and refereeing her spoiled sister, she has enough on her plate. Then the man who fired her from her dream job turns up right next door.

Ross Calvert says he's in town to help his friend's ailing mother, and only until he finds a new corporate ladder to climb. He also says he doesn't do relationships. But the more time they spend together, the harder it gets to believe either claim. Nicole's heart has been broken more than once, and she's not handing the pieces to anyone, especially not a man who's halfway out the door.

For anyone who's gone home thinking it's temporary and found their heart had other plans.
