“Investments Explained: 7th Edition” is intended to teach the basics of investing to someone with some knowledge of the field who wants to learn more. Investments Explained: 6th Edition” is intended to teach the investment basics to someone who has some knowledge about the world of investing but wants to learn more. It explores qualitative topics like mutual funds, ETFs, the benefits of passive management, and global diversification. It also helps to understand better quantitative topics such as bond valuation, expected price changes in bonds given interest rate changes, equity valuation models, options strategies, and portfolio performance attribution. This book is intended for use in a college classroom. It is currently used as the textbook for Investments and Portfolio Analysis, taught at Penn State Behrend and Penn State World Campus.
