Malta

Malta, where history is omnipresent in magnificently preserved buildings set in a rugged environment that has stood the test of time. 


Situated strategically below the island of Sicily, above Libya and roughly midway between Gibraltar and the countries of the Middle East, its often violent past can be experienced everywhere.


Even today it is often the first port of call for refugees from Northern Africa, trying to gain a foothold on European soil, now that Malta belongs to the EU.


The climate is gentle most of the time, although in the heat of summer it might be too hot for some. Easy to get to by many different airlines or a long ferry ride from Italy to visit Malta is to visits European history on a grand scale.

The modern side of Malta is as modern as any big city and shopping is a must-do as well as the local boat excursions to explore the edges of this fortress of an island. Malta: magnificent par excellence!
