Max Boucher Mysteries

Three cases. One grieving detective. A dog who won't leave his side.

Max Boucher knows what it means to lose everything.

Three years ago, the former Seattle police detective came home to a crime scene. His daughter was murdered at the kitchen table. His police dog, Houston, died in the entryway. His wife, Jenny, was gone. Now Max works as a private investigator, taking the cases no one else will, and every one of them turns personal.

This box set collects the first three Max Boucher mysteries.

Harvested. Dogs are vanishing from a Seattle park, and the police have no time for missing mutts. Then a severed ear turns up stapled to his old partner's door, and a small case starts pointing back toward the night his family was taken.

Teaching Moments. Hired to find a stolen stud horse in Cedar Peak, Idaho, Max and his blue heeler, Russ, find the town handyman bleeding out from a crossbow bolt. Somewhere, a killer is confessing, one careful chapter at a time, and will only talk to Max.

Baker Street. A nervous money man hires Max over a string of threats. Days later he's found shot dead in his son's quiet neighborhood bakery, and Max follows the money into a family history someone has killed to keep buried.

Grief, loyalty, and cases that never stay small. Start at the first file.

On Harvested: "Once again Troy Lambert nails it with Harvested. Lambert writes with the authority of a pro. Sharp, nail-biting prose that will keep you savoring each and every page." —Vincent Zandri, New York Times Thriller Award-winning author
