Jack is doing his best to not think about Immie, his best friend who’s now dating his soccer team rival, Elijah. Freshman year crashed into their friendship like a wrecking ball, and he’s trying to let the dust settle. Soccer has been his distraction, and a group vacation to Breaker’s Edge with his teammates before the next season starts up again sounds like the perfect reset.

Immie is trying to be happy with Elijah, but she can’t stop obsessing over what went wrong with Jack. Maybe she just wants her friend back; maybe she can have the best of both worlds, a great boyfriend and her best friend who she once loved. So when she hears about the group vacation to Breaker’s Edge, she convinces her mom that they need a beachy getaway, too.

With Immie and Jack on the same beach, old feelings and new complications come to the surface, and the friends will have to decide once and for all whether they’re going to get swept away or let what could have been sink under the waves.
