Two years have passed since the disastrous Battle of Hattin. Two kings and an emperor have responded to the call for Crusade. Guy de Lusignan, erstwhile King of Jerusalem, has been freed from bondage and in a desperate bid to take back a kingdom that has been lost, has laid siege to the fortress city of Acre.
Having barely recovered from Hattin, the Templars suffer a second disaster outside the wall of the city in October of 1189. The Order must recover. Using all its vast resources the Templars send men, money and equipment to stave off another defeat and help reconquer what has been lost.
Running from great personal loss, a seasoned knight seeks redemption and purpose within the Order. From France to the Holy Land, follow the tale of Brother Fulk de Le Mans in his quest for meaning and salvation within the Order.
