Days after her release from prison, Monty finds her way on the Appalachian Trail to take shelter under a nearby porch of a reclusive millionaire, Liz, during a rainstorm. Liz gives Monty an opportunity with some handyperson chores in exchange for food and shelter. Monty’s self-confidence grows, and she seeks employment at the nearby community store. The store owner’s daughter, Sarah, attempts to frame Monty for theft. Caught up in a domestic dispute, Monty saves Sarah. Monty’s attorney recognizes her abilities, and Monty takes a temporary consulting job in New York City with her attorney’s firm. Will Liz and Monty’s relationship fizzle as they are each confronted with the separation and resulting temptations?
