Descripción editorial

Peace in Ukraine offers a factual analysis of the diplomatic and political dynamics of the Ukrainian conflict. It deals in particular with the evolution of the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia since 2014. It looks back at the various peace initiatives proposed by the players in the conflict, and analyzes the reasons why they were unsuccessful, as well as the elements that could be included in a future treaty. It deciphers the sometimes tense relations between Western countries, the role of the United States, the position of the prota gonists and their stakes in this conflict.

As the war enters its fifth year, the idea of negotiation takes hold. Will the Russians and Ukrainians reach an agreement in 2026? Will the United States be able to impose its diplomatic dynamic on a divided Europe? What factors will determine a political solution?

Jacques Baud, a former member of Switzerland’s strategic intelligence service, has devoted his life to the quest for peace with the United Nations, the African Union and then NATO, in the fields of civilian protection, mediation in armed conflicts, the fight against landmines and arms trafficking, and respect for the rule of law.

A world-renowned geopolitical analyst, he has written several major books on intelligence, war and terrorism, including Putin: Game Master? (2022), Governing by Fake News (2023), The Russian Art of War (2024), Operation Al-Aqsa Flood (2024) and Covert Wars in Ukraine (2025), published by Max Milo.
