Rolf in the Woods

In early 19th-century Connecticut, young Rolf Kittering escapes a brutal home life to find refuge with Quonab, the last of the Myanos Sinawa. Under the Indian's tutelage, Rolf learns the ways of the woods: hunting, trapping, and the quiet wisdom of nature. Their journey takes them from a wigwam under a rock to the northern wilderness, where they face the challenges of survival and the complexities of the fur trade. As war looms in 1812, Rolf's frontier skills are tested in scouting missions, leading him toward a destiny that blends the call of the wild with the demands of a new nation.
