Carol had swallowed the lure–the lure of Tahiti.

As a young girl growing up in Southern California, Carol Fuller slowly began to idolize a distant and fascinating place: Tahiti. She learned her first two Tahitian words from her father when she was six years old, and her mother showed her how to dance the hip-shaking tamure.

As an adult, she began her solo travels to the many corners of French Polynesia. After countless Tahitian adventures, Carol and her husband, Scooter, settled on the coral atoll of Rangiroa, one of the most remote and spectacular locales in all of the South Pacific.

Sand, Sea, and Sky tells the tales of their day-to-day lives in a world vastly different from what they left behind. Carol’s story confirms that childhood dreams can come true. Hers did, and this is how it happened.
