Secrets of a Prodigy

SECRETS OF A PRODIGY

The greatest gifts come with the highest price.

Maddie Nichols has spent her entire life running.

Different names. Different cities. Different identities.

She doesn't know her parents' real names. She doesn't even know her own.

At sixteen, her parents handed her a new set of aliases, false IDs and a ticket to New York City. Then they disappeared from her life.

Years later, just two weeks before graduation from an exclusive performance arts university, a stranger in a hoodie approaches Maddie on a Manhattan street and thrusts a backpack into her arms.

He knows the secret code word she shares with her mother.

Inside the backpack is a warning.

RUN.

And one million dollars in cash.

Run where? From whom?

And after a lifetime spent playing hide and seek, Maddie has a more important question.

Why?

She runs west, eventually crossing paths with Maxwell Cole, the head of one of the world's largest international private security companies. Max has spent a lifetime finding answers other people can't.

And Maddie desperately needs answers.

But as Max begins helping her unravel the mystery of her parents and the identities she's carried throughout her life, another truth about Maddie is becoming impossible to ignore.

She's extraordinarily gifted.

A chance introduction to World Studios opens a door Maddie never imagined walking through. Soon the young woman raised to disappear is stepping into the spotlight as Mia, on her way to becoming one of the most recognizable pop stars in the world.

Which creates one very dangerous problem.

How do you hide from the people hunting you when the whole world knows your face?

Maddie wants the truth about her parents, her past, and the gifts that have shaped her life.

But some answers come with a price.

And Maddie may be about to discover just how high hers will be.

Secrets of a Prodigy is Book Two in Lynn Wood's Women and Their Secrets series. Each novel tells a complete story and can be enjoyed as a standalone, while the evolving story of Maxwell Cole connects the series.
