Atticus Nelson is one flat-out, do notmess with him badass. He's a take-no-prisoners kind of man, one who is known for his brusque, almost abrasive personality. The night he went in to hunt down the senator for Law, a member of the RGMC, he met Piper Carsden. The broken and bloodied woman he finds shackled to the wall calls to him in some undefinable way. Unable to leave her behind, he takes her with him, not looking for anything more than a night once she heals from the torture she's endured.

When it becomes evident that she's in danger, Atticus uses the skills that he and his brothers have to try and eliminate the threat.
