Something Blue

Leigh makes her living from affiliate marketing on her fashion blog, website, and newsletter "From drab to fab!" But she is the furthest thing from fab. Her husband of 30 years left her recently, and she is pretending that he hasn't. Her adult daughter hates her and keeps her alienated from her only grandchild… Mostly though, she is just… very, very sad.

Desperate to get out of her funk, she decides to contact the Second Chance shop because of her interest in upcycled fashion—hoping the store will bring in some of her daughter's designs and that it can be a way for them to reconnect. Unfortunately, before she can go in and introduce herself, she gets rip-roaringly drunk one night in a restaurant where Madeline, the shop's owner, and her staff, Gwen and Vic, happen to be having dinner. Leigh makes a complete donkey of herself.

Leave it to her to burn a bridge she hasn't even built yet!

To say she is flabbergasted when Madeline, Gwen, and Vic don't completely write her off is an understatement. And then her daughter contacts her with the alarming news that she needs to come and stay with Leigh—indefinitely. Now "flabbergasted" doesn't even begin to cut it.

Flailing about in the wreckage of her life, Leigh accidentally falls into an e-mail relationship with a man online who seems even sadder than she does. It's safe. It's anonymous. And for once, someone seems to understand her. And then, to her horror, he wants to meet.

Worse, he lives in Greenridge too. What are the chances?

Her new friends at the Second Chance shop convince her to meet him, and Leigh finally gives in. It will get them off her back and ease her mind too. All good things come to an end, after all. He'll learn who she really is, run for the hills, and her life can go back to normal.
