Structure and Function in Agroecosystem Design and Management

Structure and Function in Agroecosystem: Design and Management explores the possibility of designing agricultural systems that 1) increase reliance on the biological interactions as a means of decreasing dependence on the use of large quantities of agrochemicals and the consumption of fossil fuel energy and 2) continue to produce optimal crop yields. An international panel of scientists focuses on the complex networks of biotic interactions operating in agroecosystems. Topics include: biological interactions, matter cycling, and the effects of environmental changes on the structure and how they will effect the next generation of agroecosystems.
