"Mate!" Lotus howled.
I was about to reach out when the ballroom door banged open.
"Mate!" Lex exclaimed, his voice raw.
A chill swept over me as his gaze snapped away.
He wasn't talking about me, but someone else.
Sade Black.
"Looks like Prince Lex found his mate after all," someone snickered.
"Told you he wouldn't go for that rotten thing."
"Thank the Goddess he didn't pick her."
