Descripción editorial

George Henry Borrow (5 July 1803 – 26 July 1881) is an english writer and traveler. He wrote his novels based on his travel writing and experience, meetings while traveling through Europe. Over the course of his wanderings, he developed a close affinity with the Romani people of Europe, who figure prominently in his work. His the most famous books are The Bible in Spain, the autobiographical Lavengro, and The Romany Rye, about his time with the English Romanichal (gypsies). During his life, he wrote many works that remain popular today.

"The Bible in Spain or the Journey, Adventures, and Imprisonment of an Englishman in an Attempt to Circulate the Scriptures in the Peninsula" is a excellent novel by George Henry Borrow. This work is associated with a number of meetings Borrow with the Spaniards during the Carlist Civil War. It was the first widely-known book, containing detailed information on Gypsies (though a more complete description is found in his first work The Zincalí (1841), which was not a commercial success). This is one of the best creations of the author, and so it might be interesting to all readers.
