The Blood Room

The body of a twenties-something lawyer is found in a West Los Angeles alley and LAPD Detective Desi Nimmo is assigned to investigate. She soon finds that Sterling Parker was the victim of a BDSM sex lifestyle that went badly wrong. Desi must also deal with a new detective assigned as her partner, Finbar McNab, who is overly ambitious to redeem himself in the department after an accident drummed him out of a plum job. Undermining Desi at every chance he can get, he works to make the case his and get her pushed off it. Meanwhile, Desi follows clues in the victim's apartment and car leading the investigative trail to a lurid, lucrative BDSM ring patronized by LA's elite. Then Desi discovers that a young Eastern European dominatrix, who had taken the job to find out what happened to her long lost sister, has vanished. As she and Fin get closer to the millionaire mastermind behind the disappearances and an international pornography ring, Desi's career and life hang in the balance.
