The Forger's Hand

Nora Jessup knows books. As a rare book expert whose career ended under circumstances she rarely discusses, she has learned to read the language of paper, binding, and time. When she discovers a forged first edition at a small-town estate sale in Briarcliff, she uncovers far more than a clever fake. 

The discovery pulls her into the decades-old mystery of Edmund Hargrove, a collector whose private library vanished along with him forty years ago. As Nora investigates, she finds herself entangled with the town's secrets, a trust that may have been betrayed, and a carefully maintained deception that someone has worked very hard to protect.

 With the help of Theo, a coffee shop owner with his own quiet steadiness, and Bartleby, a greyhound with a gift for skepticism, Nora must navigate a mystery where the stakes are higher than a forged book, and the truth demands more than expertise to uncover.
