19th century pulp novel
This book is racist, pandering to a 19th C "America is right in all things" viewpoint. The villain, conveniently Mexican, is as one-dimensional as the hero, stereotypically Irish. The plot is predictable, the writing is turgid and uneven.
I would say, "Don't bother."
