The Glass Marble

In rotting New York City where courts free predators and children are offered state-sponsored death, a vigilante known only as Angel begins leaving flawless glass marbles at his kills: red for judgment, blue for warning.
Detective Francesca Bruno, already haunted by the brother the system failed to protect, is handed the case nobody wants. Each marble is perfect. Each victim slipped through legal cracks. And half the city is starting to pray to the killer.
As the murders mount, the marbles spread, copycats rise, and the streets explode into civil war. Bruno realises the calm, prophetic voice stoking the chaos is the same man she's been drinking coffee with--whose razor-sharp theories on societal collapse she has quietly admired.
Now Angel is inside her precinct, inside her city hall, inside her home, and the final marble is meant for her.
