The Gold-drinkers

Serving as a shieldmaiden under the King of the Goths, a cursed princess marches on Rome, where Tyrfing will demand the price of conquest.

I've sworn allegiance to the King of the Goths. I fight under his banner, and lead a warband in his name.

For now, we're fighting for Rome as mercenaries—until they make peace with their rivals. Then it's time to collect what they owe us.

 Of course, the Romans have no intention of paying without a sword at their throats.

So we march on the Eternal City. But Rome isn't about to be pushed around.

They mean to teach us barbarians our place in the world.

 Gods, is that ever a mistake.

Because now it isn't just a debt of gold they owe us.

It's a debt in blood.

And Tyrfing will see it paid.
