Clint Adams has always detested mob violence. After he aids a man who's being chased by bandits, Clint meets the man's pursuers—who claim to be a posse of lawmen. Problem is, they don't have badges and seem dead-set on a kill. But if they're telling the truth, then Clint has just helped a low-down polecat get away. In any event, he has to find out the truth. For now, they're impressed that he's the Gunsmith—and think that he's on their side. But if Clint's luck runs out, he may find that he's saved another man's life—and forfeited his own.
