The re-enchantment of cloth

The Re-enchantment of Cloth is an exhibition of electronic garments and wall hangings made over the past 7 years at Studio subTela in Montreal Quebec. At subTela, I lead a multi-disciplinary team of artists, scientists and graduate students exploring the possibilities of combining traditional textile technologies and new digital tools. In the midst of sophisticated equipment and high tech materials is the production of finely crafted handmade textile structures and surfaces. The studio is also dedicated to the training of new researchers in the areas of communications technology, soft computation, and most importantly, in asserting the value of textile arts as an integral part of human experience.
