This House Has a Murder Problem

With odes to The Saturday Night Ghost Club and the tongue-in-cheek voice of Benjamin Stevenson comes a cozy mystery set in a world where all houses are haunted, so picking the right ghost is just as important as picking the right floorplan. Especially if that house is haunted not only by a spirit but also a flesh-and-blood killer. . .

Welcome to the town of Harmony Falls! Where your dream house awaits…if you can survive living in it.

After years spent cramped in a NYC apartment, Spencer Owens and Eddie Ludovico yearn for a house of their own. Unfortunately for them, every house in this world is openly haunted and the most important real estate feature isn’t square footage or curb appeal—it’s the desirability of the ghost. (Because what could be more American than commodifying a literal spirit?)

When the husbands bring on an impassioned new realtor after being outbid on their first choice, they impulsively purchase an idyllic lakefront home in upstate New York at a price that feels entirely too good to be true. Because as it turns out, the house has a bit of a murder problem. All of its past owners have vanished without a trace, and the husbands can’t tell if their new ghost is oblivious or lying to them about why.

As Spencer and Eddie navigate crazy locals, sketchy realtors, and strange noises waking them at night, they soon realize the house may be haunted not only by a spirit but also a flesh-and-blood killer—forcing them to fight for the lifestyle they’ve always wanted or dig deep to decide whether the American Dream is really worth dying for.
