When Hearts Crossed Death

What if a dream could change the fate of two lives?

In the quiet world of a noble household in ancient China, young Du Liniang lives a life of strict protection and innocence. She knows nothing of love except what she has heard whispered by her maid and glimpsed in traveling operas.

Until one spring afternoon in the garden.

Falling asleep among blooming peonies, Liniang dreams of a mysterious young scholar—Liu Mengmei. Their meeting feels destined, their connection immediate and profound. Night after night the dream returns, growing deeper and more passionate until the boundary between dream and reality disappears.

But such love comes at a cost.

Unable to live without the man who exists only in her dreams, Liniang wastes away and dies. Yet death does not end her love story. In the realm of spirits she continues to meet her beloved, until the ruler of the underworld intervenes and offers them an impossible chance.

Guided by dreams, Mengmei must travel to Liniang's grave and perform an act that defies reason, tradition, and fear.

What follows is a miracle that shocks the living world.

Reimagined in modern poetic language, this haunting romantic tale inspired by the Chinese classic When Hearts Crossed Death explores longing, destiny, and the mysterious power of love that refuses to die.

A story where dreams awaken passion…
death cannot defeat devotion…
and true love finds its way back to life.
