Villebystadt is a megacity where there are more cameras per square foot than people. Every car has monitors and control systems to keep them within legal limits. And only electronic currency is accepted. And if a child is never registered, they never get the electronic currency bracelet. They must live with the unregistered. A place that doesn't exist. Where there is no money to buy things. With people who were never born. Or so say the officials of the city.

Torqey is one such unregistered person. She is a survivor who knows how the system works, or so she thought. When she relocates to a different area of the city to find new hunting grounds, she finds a system more complex than the government itself. And it's all run by a single man that will change Torqey's life.

But Torqey has a trick up her sleeve to survive. She has a skill. She knows how to work on cars. And not just with a wrench.
