This case raises the same principal issues addressed in Bering v. Share, 106 Wash. 2d 212, 721 P.2d 918 (1986), and originally was consolidated with Bering v. Share for oral argument. Due to our differing treatment of the cases, we are treating them as companion cases, with separate opinions.
